More Eggmen later in the week; for now, another scraperboard diversion

This one is after a photo by Hiroshi Sugimoto of a young australopithicene couple in a diorama in the American Museum of Natural History in New York. In the photo they kind of remind me of a more Darwinian Adam and Eve after the expulsion from the garden. And now life is suddenly hard and everything's turned to shit.

And here's the ghost of Moondog.

More portraits

Dmitri Shostakovich again.

Sahelanthropus tchadensis was, apparently, an early human ancestor ca 6-7 million years ago. Its bones were dug up in Chad, as the name would suggest.
I think I'm getting the hang of this scraperboard/scratchboard thing.

And my Great Auntie Nora. Nora died before I was born so she's not around to complain that I did a bit of a crap portrait of her. In the photo I had, she looks all gorgeous and doe-eyed and willowy in a kind of turn-of-the-last-century way. Sadly, I think I've rendered her looking a bit like a doe-eyed and willowy Greek transvestite.

Weapon X

This is my 10-year-old son, as a 7-year-old, as Wolverine. With cutlery.
He just had that kind of expression in his school photo that year.

Couldn't concentrate

I found myself trying to write some new pages and strips but had a spouse needing my ear every few minutes so started scratching instead. I love scratchboard. One day I'll get really good at using it and just use it for everything.

I started playing around with scraper board (scratch board if you're American). This was a little practice run for another project.
